This week we caught up with David Browning, President of OCMTBA
Set to Launch in early March, Orange County Mountain Bike Association (OCMTBA) has been sensitively navigating their launch behind the noise of global pandemic challenges.
This week we sat down with David Browning, founding member and President of the coalition to talk passion, vision, and what they will be doing to collect and unify the tribe for all of our riding friend’s benefit.
What is OCMTBA?
OCMTBA is the Orange County Mountain Bike Association. We deliver a unified voice on behalf of the Orange County mountain bike community to our local land managers. Our goal is to maintain and expand trails for MTB riders.
How does OCMTBA work?
Based on three core initiatives to achieve our goals:
- Show the Way – Through collaboration with local bike retailers and MTB clubs, we manage a Welcome and Train program for new MTB riders when they buy a
- Fresh Tracks – In partnership with Troy Lee Designs, Fresh Tracks is an awareness program to remind experienced riders about trail use
- Trail Advocates – We have established a Club Advisory Council that meets on a quarterly basis with local MTB club leaders, bike retailers, and other industry partners with the focus to assess and prioritize on MTB trail access and use topics that are communicated back to our land managers and the MTB
In a nutshell, we have united to be your voice to maintain existing trails and advocate for additional trails throughout Orange County.
