While we’re in race mode, we have been dreaming about a winter series. Not only did the 2021 season of Over the Hump explode with new and seasoned racers, but with the late start we were able to have a successful and healthy racership for all 8 races of the season.

So, finally we have an answer for the people who have been asking, “When are you going to do a winter series?”.  The answer: January 2022.

Announcing the 2022 Race Schedule:

Over the Hump’s First Ever Winter series is a 3 race series at Irvine Lake-The Saturday format will allow us to race in smaller heats, decreasing the traffic and allowing for like-ability and speed racers to be on the course during their appropriate class pairings.

1. Saturday, January 8
2. Saturday January 29
3. Saturday February 26

*The first race will go off at 10am and subsequent classed to follow approximately each hour and a half.
**If you registered for the full series back in 2020, the Winter Series is included in your purchase price and you will be automatically registered. We will use the same number plate for the winter series as we did for 2021 summer so if you still have one you don’t need to buy another. (Registration  opens November 1st)
***Series points: there are no “dropped races” in scoring all 3 races will be added to determine the winners. Podiums and awards will be given to the top 3 in each class.  We will continue the tradition of top 30% of racers in each class going home with a pint glass at each race.

Winter Race Day Schedule

• 8:00am: On-site Registration/Check-in begins/Exhibit area open.
• 8:30am-10:00am: Pre-ride course open
• 10:00am: Beginners, Juniors and Intermediate Race
• 11:00am: Kid’s Race (all ages 6-11 year olds)
• 11:30am: Elite, Sport, Super Sport, Clydesdale, Single Speed, 60+, 65+ Race
• Food trucks will be onsite serving delicious meals before and during race along with beer from Docent Brewing and other non-alcoholic drinks
• Post race (approx 1:00-1:45am): Preliminary results posted

Summer Series will begin in May with 8 races:
