Blood Drive to Honor Mark Olsen of Oakley September 6
Our brother, Mark Olsen, was diagnosed with Leukemia this year. BUT, because of blood donations, not only was his life spared, but he is up and riding again. Your donation matters.
Save the date of September 6, to help others who need your help and compassion.
A note from Mark:
We can sure use your help and support in getting this blood drive off the ground. The wonderful folks at Sport RX (one of my San Diego accounts) is hosting a fantastic event on September 6 from 1:00-7:00 pm (Friday). While I was sick and in need of blood, Erin (the buyer there) saw that she had the same blood type as me and wanted to donate. She then took it to the next level and decided to call the American Red Cross and plan an event, inspired by my health situation. For those who haven’t heard, I was diagnosed with Leukemia in May and a 2nd opinion @ The Stanford Research Center, in June, confirmed the diagnosis. My condition has changed (without Chemo) and now I have MDS or in layman’s term’s I am Anemic, low on Red Blood cells, fortunately I get a Procrit shot now that is helping me make better blood. Your donation will help somebody who’s in dire need of a pint or two. During my 20 + days in the Hospital, I needed 3 separate, 2 pint transfusions and was glad that the Red Cross was there! With each blood donation there will be gifts (along with the usual juice and cookies that the ARC supplies). So, come out and join the fun and feel good about it at the same time. Please go online, redcrossblood.org spo
nsor code is sportrx to schedule your appointment to give some blood so someone in need can benefit from your generosity. So, please spread the word–share this with your family and friends, put it up on your facebook page, whatever you can do to help this blood drive be a success. SAVE THE DATE: September 6th!!!!!
