“The Captain” Ned Overand visited Orange County this week, mountain bike racing legend and Specialized brand advocate, took his 2015 prototype race rig out to lap around Irvine Lake last night.
With a record turnout for the 6th race, besting all other 6 seasons, we had a ton of fun lakeside last night. There’s quite a bit of quality that’s gone on in the first half of the Over the Hump season. Not much more to ask for. Sub 70 degree race starts every week at 6pm, beautiful sunsets, and a season long visit from healthy and tasty food vendors Sambazon and Wahoo’s Fish Tacos.
While most of us are excited for a break to refresh, and enjoy family, vacations and the like…the family at the lake will be missed.
So, if you’re lonely at night, and need some Lakeside MTB Family memories to cuddle with on Tuesday nights until July 22 Called to Creation has a giant gallery to view from last night’s race. Scott McClain, featured photographer for the night, took advantage of some fun lighting, and dirty smiles, while also hooking up with the kid’s race (our 6-11 year old main event).
We captured a new definition of grass roots from our friend at Oakley, Steve Blick, this week. Grass Roots= for the kids. So here’s a shout out to all the kids (all ages) that call OTH their home on Tuesday night. Get out there and be a kids, and we’ll see you again on July 22.
