crankbrothers Gold Egg Winner
For the first 6 weeks of the series, racers have had the chance to find tickets through the golden egg hunt in order to win a pair of eggbeater 11s. Eggbeater 11’s retail for $425- so finding that egg and winning the raffle wound up being a real find.
A little about the prize: The eggbeater pedal is what crankbrothers is best known for. It debuted in 2001 and has since become the most widely used pedal among the world’s top cross country mountain bike racers. For the last two years, a redesign of the eggbeater has been in development, and the new eggbeater was released earlier this year. The redesign addressed some issues with the previous pedal, such that it is now much stronger and more durable. The eggbeater 11 uses a titanium spindle, body, and wings resulting in an incredibly lightweight pedal at 174 grams per pair. Durability is improved by the air-tight and water-tight assembly process, while the use of needle (inner) and cartridge (outer) bearings improves usability and smoothness. This pedal, with its four-sided entry, improves rider confidence because it is very easy to engage and disengage, and performs well in muddy conditions. The functionality of the eggbeater 11 is complimented by its beauty, with graphical applications that are consistent with the design language of the complete crankbrothers component line.
We’re excited to announce….drum roll, thanks crankbrothers….and without further adieu the winner is:

Thank you to Crank Brothers and everyone involved in the Over the Hump Series.
Not many people know this but on race day back in June I was on my warm up lap and broke a pedal shortly after leaving the starting line. There was not enough time to go back to my car and look for a spare pedal, and I was not even sure if I had stashed a set with my tools. So I returned to the starting area to see if Crank Brothers could help. After searching for a few minutes they were able to dig up a pedal for me to use for the race. With some more help in the form of a hex wrench from the Rock n’ Road Cycle booth I was back in the race. The race I was able to overtake the series leader in my category, thanks to Crank Brothers and Rock n’ Road Cycle.
