thinkASG Pays it Forward As Part of the Over the Hump Family

Would you like to be the proud owner of a brand new Giant Talon 29r mountain bike?  Of course you would!  And would you like to be known as someone that made a difference fighting childhood cancer?  OF COURSE YOU WOULD.

PLEASE visit the thinkASG/Two Wheels-One Planet booth and buy lots of raffle tickets.  It’s only $5 for an entry, $5 that gets multiplied forward to Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) and enters you for a chance at that bike – that’s a win/win if ever there was one!  We’ll look forward to seeing you there!

The foundation of our team has been present for all five years and we have become great friends with Matt, John and crew.

thinkASG started with a theme of fitness, fun and family…almost direct parallel to the OTH mantra.  In the earlier seasons, we were able to enjoy numerous physical turnarounds in our more or less middle aged crew – lots of pounds shed and tons of peer motivation to keep you “on the right track” (Irvine Lake and keeping in shape!).  We obviously had great fun together (who doesn’t have fun getting dirty, sweaty and running in circles every Tuesday night), we built a family with wonderful racer, racer spouse, support, and other team alliances that arose from our the time we play together.

As OTH developed, so has the thinkASG presence.  We have now established an MTB team unique logo and 942287_10151627103608491_1398941676_nare in our third generation look on the course.  We’ve also developed our theme, we still want to play (remember fun), but we also want to recognize the ability to promote and to pay it forward.  For promotion, keep in mind, thinkASG is an IT company – we sell and implement hardware for commercial enterprises like the guys that build the bike’s you roll – this is not the standard marketing venue.   But we found that our client firms are comprised of folks like us, and we like each other better when we’ve sweat on the same course…and we get to show what we are really about with how we “represent”, a small part of which being the desire to “pay it forward”.

Think about it, we’re all plunking down some serious coin to get out there and ride each week because we can.  And if we can, shouldn’t we share that benefit with others?  thinkASG has been a corporate partner of South County Outreach (SCO) food bank for several years .  It’s amazing the need that is present in our very own neighborhoods, with our OTH collections we can  share our blessings whit those that need it more.  And thru experiences within our family, we have established a passion on a very easy cause.  Our annual raffles and corporate matching help a little to fund Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) and we hope to bring some relief to families in need.  By remembering to pay it forward, we have been able to keep a focus on the truly important things (not just how fast was your lap!).

All in all, the five years of OTH have given more to us than we could ever give back, our playing together, our promoting who we are, and our paying it forward to those who are less fortunate has allowed us a purpose that transcends the sport, while enjoying the passion that we have for it.
