You are in for a treat. Family day has more family buzz than Disneyland, for Orange County families…and it’s free for kids 5 and under. Kids 6-11 join the race for just $20
Over the Hump Mountain Bike Race presented by Mazda, occurs summer at Irvine Lake, Silverado, CA. Family energy electrifies this event, as there’s a fun-filled ride for every member of the family.
Family Night serves family fun as the main dish and uses bike and kid’s activities as the servers. Festival activities, and racing for community, and playful competition for kids and adults.

Family Activities include mountain bike races, fun and contests for kids ages 2 to 80 years old. Food trucks, Docent Beer with coffee, breakfast and lunch yummies is ready to serve you. There’s something for everybody. And for the adult in the group, we have our favorite brewery onsite, Docent Brewing

If you’ve never been to an Over the Hump Race, Simple Green Family Day is one not to miss! Unique to Over the Hump is Orange County mountain biking for youth.

Lil’ Tikes Trikes and Bikes Race (FREE)– Anyone riding 2, 3, or more wheels (ages up to 5 yrs old). - FREE Face painting by professional Face Painting Artists
- FREE bounce house, climbing wall
- Food trucks will be onsite to fuel families with tacos, snow cones, AÇAI and more.
Race Day Schedule:
- 4:00pm: On-site Registration/Check-in begins/Exhibit area open.
- 4:30pm: Pre-ride course open
- 5:15pm: FREE Lil’ Tikes Trikes and Bikes Race
- 5:30pm: Kid’s Race (all ages 6-11 year olds) &
- 6:00pm ALL CLASSES WAVE STARTS BEGIN- Elite, Sport, Super Sport, Clydesdale, Single Speed, 60+, 65+ Race, Intermediate, Juniors, & 1st Time Racers
- 7:15pm: Preliminary results posted
- Food trucks will be onsite serving delicious meals before, during and after the race along with beer from Docent Brewing and other non-alcoholic drinks
*Parking Cost is $5 day of event.

For the Tike’s race, what Kind of Bike works? Any kind of kids bike will do, BMX to just an average Garage Sale find, or a Walmart “Special”…don’t let equipment be a deterrent on any of our races (especially the kids). It’s all about the Bike Party…if it pedals it is good enough. Some kids ride scooters and striders, etc (ages 2-5). It’s more about having fun than competing. Whilst some children may attend this event with the best stunt scooters in the world, it doesn’t matter if you’ve got an old scooter model. Everyone will be included in this, no matter what scooter or bike they have!
