Post Race fun is back:

Remember Wheel Bowling, Drag Race, and Last Rider Standing? We’re bringing them all back and more this season in addition to giving prizes away to accelerate the post race evening fun.

Beer Garden gets a sponsor

Docent Brewing in San Juan Capistrano

Docent Brewing joins us this year at Over the Hump as an official Beer Garden Sponsor. For their passion of Mountain Biking is only 3rd to Beer Making and Food Baking. Get ready for the best suds of the last 8 years, post race.

Venue gets an overhaul (again)

Yeah, the OTH circle of life and vendors is awesome…it just got AWESOMER. We’ll bring the beer and food from Wahoo’s and others into the action of the main venue area…so you don’t have to leave the fun post race anymore to water and feed the crew.

Some of Our Best Courses Re-Defined:

We’ve already got the courses laid out. 2 Weeks in Each direction, and then we’ll switch; which allows you to test yourself each and every week, to see if you’re getting faster, or just had an super-hero week last week. We’ve incorporated the single track climb (and maybe even a descent: hint, hint).

Meet our Info Screen: We’ll answer your questions with one simple solution. One of our hottest ideas of all time, brought from your feedback. What does the course look like? What direction are we going? Any important announcements you missed this week? Who’s crossing the finish line RIGHT NOW? And more!

Split Timing:

Replay Timing is at it again…this year adding a whole new set of hardware to their arsenal…allowing us the opportunity show split times, and even run a few fastest Mazda Racer segments to the course. So look for more details, race insights, and fun post race comparisons with your “water cooler racing buddies” at work.

Special Mazda Night and perks

Mazda mountain bike Mazda returns as the presenting sponsor of Over the Hump in 2017. With their return they continue to make us better…besides driver perks, front row parking, they’ll also be giving away a Specialized Bike, Ride and Drive opportunities, special prizes from week to week, special call ups for Mazda Nights, and hosting the OTH Pre-Race Plate pick up at Tustin MAZDA on Saturday, May 6.

Junior’s Race gets a face lift-

We’ve seen a big gap in racer’s ability from 12-15yrs old…coming out of that Kid’s Class can be a tough pill to swallow, but we’re doing it a bit different. Introducing the A / B groups.

A Group is the faster set of riders coming into or growing into the Junior class. This will be self policed, but girls and boys will do 2 laps.

B Group is a bit more casual, entry level racer, boys and girls will do 1 lap and the competition is a little tamer, so the fun continues after the Kid’s race.

Which one should a Jr Choose. Depends on ability, stamina, and the strength of the A Group field. It’s going to be a learning experience for all of us, but if you want help choosing, please email info@raceoth.com and we’ll be happy to help.
