Photos and Recap August 14

10 Races into the series, and it’s cooling off. After a couple hot weeks we lit up the night with Simple Green Night, Ladies Night by Felt and the 1st open E-Bike Race at OTH.
We’re gonna miss Flint
Tuesday was a a bittersweet night…we said goodbye to our 2 year Race Director Flint McInnis as he heads off to study in Europe with UCI for the next 9 months. Flint was a big part of making this year’s courses better and leading the course team to a lively set of new features, better marking and less dust with more water on the course.

E-Bike Race Adventure
Starting off the night the Open E-bike Class fired out of the gate before the main event. It was met with mixed reviews. As the E-Bike conversation is in full swing, this exhibition class has been begged for by some and decried by others. Plenty of good debates either way, but the fun the 15 racers were able to enjoy in their 15 minute sprint on a closed and legal course at OTH was epic.

Simple Green Night
Matt took a photo opp with EGBAR the Simple Green Celeb of the night. Egbar did not say much, but he sure was a happy soul, because he does good work. EGBAR is an acronym and Simple Green mascot, and fittingly shares the same mantra as Over the Hump. EGBAR stands for Everything’s Gonna Be All Right. Simple Green and OTH are making the world a cleaner, safer happier place one racer and cleaning product at a time.
With the largest kids race around, and a huge focus on family Over the Hump has been a blast this summer. Tuesday was Felt Ladies Night as Felt handed a T-shirt to 50 women, sharing the love of awesome bikes, dirty smiles, and a life doing what we all love together on two wheels.
Results after 10 Races
10 Races means that some racers start dropping their worst of the series, to improve scores. 12 race series include Kids through Elite Racers…..with Beginner and Intermediate Classes having a shorter 2nd batch of 6 races, where we score 4 of 6 races. Be looking for lots of fun in the shifting points coming the next two weeks.
