SEEDING & FORMAT

Qualifying round:

  • Racers must complete one timed run down each side of the slalom track. Their time is then combined.
  • Racers will be ranked by their fastest combined time.
  • The fastest combined time will be the first (fastest) place qualifier.
  • The fastest qualifier will be seeded against the slowest, the next fastest with the next slowest, etc.
  • During qualifying, racers are not racing head-to-head against each other, only against the clock.
  • The number of riders that will move on to the finals will be based on the total number of athletes registered in each category.
  • In the event of a tie on total qualifying times, ties shall be broken at random for the higher seeded position. (coin flip, drawing lots)

Finals:

  • Racers will line up according to their seeding order and will race head-to-head against their opponent. Each racer must complete a run on both sides of the track.
  • The racer with the fastest combined time after runs on both sides of the track will be the winner of that round and move on to the next round. The slower racer will be eliminated.
  • The winners of each bracket will then race against each other, and either move on or be eliminated in the same fashion until a winner is decided.

Racers must ride around (not over) each gate, with both tire tracks passing on the outside of the gate.
