August 10 Fall Series Photos
Saturday was a special inaugural run with what we think is “The Dream Team”. Cross Country business and FUN up front and Slalom business and gravity FUN, Strait Acres style in the back. Kinda like a double mullet, but mo’ betta. It was an epic combination of fun times, fast tracks, and a real treat for the kids. AND we’ve just begun, there are key improvements from this past weekend’s race which are already in the making for the next race. The most notable change is returning to our one day format: all races will be held on Saturday, September 7th (including pro qualifying and slalom practice).
Saturday was Family Day, bringing the littles with Lil’ Tikes Bikes and Trikes Race, which ripped right through the venue during the longer than normal Red Rock Wilderness Long Course for Sport through Elite. While the 1st Timers, Novice, Intermediate and Novice racers pounded out the laps on the short course with nearly non-existent traffic.
As the day progressed Dual Slalom racers dropped in on their qualifying and bracket heats culminating with the Pro Final and 5:30pm. The racing days this weekend were WARM to say it cooly.
Slalom racers got a Kyle Strait reworked 2 track line, along with Strait Acres keeping their commitment to the pros, by anteing up along with their sponsors they doled out an equal pro-purse payout to both the men and women, with a total of $6,000 dropping into the pro’s cumulative pockets.
