2022 Over the Hump Photos Opening Night

The Over the Hump Season Opener was Awesome. Back to our May starts, perfect race weather, and a whole heck of a lot of hugs and high fives.
The Racer Info Booth is the heartbeat of Over the Hump. 80+ First Time Never-before-Racers joined the action and stopped by the Racer Info Booth to get the scoop, find the number of laps, and meet our friendly Ambassador Docents. Special thanks to Ross, Sonja and Craig Hunter, James Mullen and Barry Nilson for being the official Over the Hump greeting committee.
The first week of May is a party worth having, and this one was extra special. The Mariachi band brought out by Rock N Road Cyclery set the pace for a themed kick off and lots of smiles.
Giant brought out a fleet of Anthems all prepped and race ready. If you missed it you missed the opportunity to ride a magic machine. But fair warning, Giant will be back with the demo fleet on another summer night this year, so make sure you check out some of the very best race and gravel rockets on the market. Our friend Mark Helms, at Giant, drinks the kool-aid and loves to share his stuff!
73 kids took off…on a school night; I mean who doesn’t love bikes right before summer officially kicked off. We’re proud to be one of only two places we know of (The other is Mazda Quick N Dirty) who focus on the NOW & FUTURE of our dirty 2 wheel mountain bike passion. Reminds us of the old “Y” BMX days of Orange YMCA when we were kids.
And the Singletrack accross the road is back. From racer feedback we’ve heard that it rides super fun and they were stoked to get out there.
