New Racing Category at OTH This Year: Unicycle

We’re back this year with a new, exciting addition to race categories: The Unicycle division!

Here’s a quick look at what you’re in for:

We are working hard to bring everyone into our community and we heard all the requests for a unicycle division from you Humpers, so we delivered.

Division Categories

Beginner: If it is your first time on a unicycle, this is the category for you.  You will be doing one standard OTH loop.  There are 2 series per season, with each 6 race season being scored best 4 out of 6 races.

Intermediate:  Intermediates should have some time put in on the saddle.  You also will be doing one standard OTH loop.  Again, 2 series per season, with each 6 race season being scored best 4 out of 6 races.

Sport: You should be a comfortable on a unicycle and be able to comfortably “bunny-hop” over obstacles to race in the sport category.  Each race season is scored as 1 series with your best 9 races out of 12 being counted towards the podium.

Super Sport: You are a PRO at the single wheeled contraption! We allow gears in this category, all categories below are single speed only.  You will be tackling the single track up the hill at OTH.  Each race season is scored as 1 series with your best 9 races out of 12 being counted towards the podium.

Elite: All Elite unicycle races will start at 9 pm.  Geared unicycles are allowed, but no lights.  We figure that you should be able to ride by pure feel if you are racing in the elite category. Each race season is scored as 1 series with your best 9 races out of 12 being counted towards the podium.

Elite +: Elite + races will start at 9 am and will cover a total distance of 40 miles.  This is 10 standard OTH laps.  You will want to be in top shape for this race.  Each race season is scored as 1 series with your best 9 races out of 12 being counted towards the podium.

Rules

  • No Electric Unicycles will be allowed on the course.
  • HAVE FUN!  At OTH, fun is the name of the game.
  • Unicycles have the right of way on the course and will start last in the lineup.

Have Fun

Registration for the Unicycle division will open today, April 1st, 2017.  Come out and have some fun in the dirt with us!
