Lizard Trail Work Week- 3 days of love!
Laguna Canyon Wilderness has an opportunity for you to serve this week. If you are able, get out and give. It all starts with us, and a this is a great trail to give some love to.
Wednesday December 10: We will be meeting at 9 am at the Willow Trailers to go out and brush on Lizards. We will be returning between 2 and 3 pm. We’ll just be providing snack bars, so bring food and water for yourself, as well as sturdy hiking shoes or boots, long pants, sun protection and gloves if you have them. If you don’t have some of these, you can get pretty much all of this gear from Bass Pro Shops and you can get a coupon from this source to save yourself money. We have four people signed up so far. PLEASE RSVP if you plan on coming so we can have tools and vehicle space for you.
Friday December 12: Same plan as Wednesday except that it will probably be raining, so we will probably need to hike in (and out). PLEASE RSVP if you plan on being there so that we can have tools for you.
Sunday December 14: This is our regularly-scheduled monthly work day and we are really hoping for a good turn-out. We will meet at 8:30 am at the Willow trailers for coffee and bagels, and head out to the Lizards trail by 9:00. We might be working on brushing or we might be doing tread work, depending on conditions and the timing of the contractor’s work. (NOTE: If the roads are still wet we may have to hike in on this day too.) We will work until 11:00 or 11:30 and then a simple lunch will be provided back at the trailers around noon. Please bring sturdy hiking shoes or boots, long pants, sun protection and gloves if you have them (loaners available if you don’t). Again, PLEASE RSVP by COB Friday if you plan on coming so that I can know how much food to bring.
Let me know if yo can make it and please feel free top SPREAD THE WORD! No prior experience is necessary in order to participate (although we do of course need as many experienced folks out there to share their knowledge).
Please let me know if you have any further questions!
Thank you!
